Which only last about 10 days. When I have them to take I am fine but if I dont have them I throw up a lot and cant go to work. Is there something else I can do that will work but doesnt cost so much? Also I just started taking Prenatal vitamins that have extra vitamin D and extra folic acid, the container says they are easy on the stomach but I feel very nausious all day when I take them. Is this normal? I know prenatal vitamins are very important for the baby, but are they supposed to be like this?If anyone know what to do or has had any experience with this, let me know. Thanks :) Reply to this Question Share |

leogirl18 is verified as being by the original poster of the questionThanks for the advice everyone! I really hope it goes by the 13th week or so, Im just going to stick with my prescription and try the list of tips from Vicky121087. That looks very helpful. And I will defiantely try Ginger Tea many people have mentioned that it will help. And to Person12345 thanks for trying with the advice, but I dont care what any studies show or what people seem to think smoking pot will or may cure, I am strongly against that, especially during pregnancy.
Thanks everyone again. And got the first ultrasound yesterday! First picture and got to hear the heart beat :) Anyone who has been pregnant knows this exciting feeling!

The two most potent and effective things to make nausea and vomiting disappear in everyone are: ginger and pot, especially the pot. That drug is so effective at making nausea disappear no matter what its cause that people are dying of alcohol poisoning because they smoke pot and don't vomit up the alcohol. This is also a main reason pot is administered to cancer patients. It was more effective than any of the prescription drugs they were given. It really is a nausea miracle drug. However, in Canada pot is illegal (did you know studies show it's actually safe to use while pregnant?). Ginger pills are also extremely effective in controlling nausea and vomiting and are also used in cancer patients with good success. Ginger candies can be eaten too, but ginger ale doesn't usually contain real ginger anymore. Also I second the vitamin B.

Pregnancy morning sickness occurs in 50 to 80% of new mom's to be. It's unfortunate that for many, the morning sickness will strike all through the day and not just in the morning. Most cases of morning sickness occur between the 4th and 6th week of pregnancy and lasts until the 14th to 16th week, but may last all through pregnancy, and leave many women actively searching for the elusive morning sickness cure.
What Can I Do To Cure My Morning Sickness?
Each woman is different where morning sickness cures are concerned. What works for one, may or many not work for another. Below you will find ideas which you can try:
•Vitamin B6 - 50 mg. daily. Vitamin B6 has been scientifically shown to help morning sickness. You can find Vitamin B6 at your local drugstore or health food store. Just recently, companies have started to incorporate therapeutic doses of Vitamin B6 into their products to help you cure your morning sickness. One is B-Natal TheraPops are cherry flavored lollipops which have been shown to help cure morning sickness for many women. Another Vitamin B-6 enriched product is called Morning Sickness Magic. Morning Sickness Magic is a herbal remedy containing Ginger, Vitamin B-6, Red Raspberry Leaf and Folic Acid.
•Avoid warm places as heat can increase the nausea feelings.
•Take naps during the day (but not right after eating). Tiredness plays a big part in morning sickness.
•Get enough sleep at night.
•Get out of bed slowly in the morning.
•Try eating plain crackers or dry cereal before you get out of bed in the morning.
•Open windows or turn on exhaust fans when cooking and after meals.
•Cooking in the microwave usually produces less odors.
•Ginger in capsules form 250 mg. three times daily can be beneficial. Ginger has long been associated with alleviating nausea. You can also get the benefit of using ginger by chewing on crystallized ginger or sucking on ginger hard candies.
•Silly as it sounds, carry a handkerchief with a few drops of a non nausea causing essential oil (lemon for example) in it and breath through it if you can't get away from the smell that is bothering you.
•Avoid greasy or spicy foods as they often cause nausea or heartburn.
•Eat what you want when you want it. Your cravings will not lead you the wrong way.
•Have frequent protein snacks. (Low fat meats and seafood, nuts, eggs and beans are high protein.)
•Eat smaller meals every two hours or so.
•Eating something salty before a meal can help you "make it through" a meal.
•Do not drink fluids with your meals.
•Non caffeinated teas like peppermint and ginger can help came nausea.
•Drink small amounts of fluids regularly though out the day to avoid dehydration.
•Do not skip meals if you can help it.
•Try taking your prenatal vitamins later in the day. Pregnancy Plus prenatal vitamins are smaller in size and are less likely to upset your stomach. You may also want to consider taking your prenatal vitamin at night before you go to bed to give it a chance to be absorbed overnight.
•Avoid spicy and fried food - both eating and smelling it can increase your nausea.
•Cold food may have less nausea inducing smells associated with them.
If your morning sickness is severe enough, your doctor may prescribe medication that will help you reclaim some normality in your life. If you are unable to keep food or water down for any length of time, PLEASE talk to your doctor to see what can be done. Extensive weight loss / dehydration can be harmful to both mom and baby. Your doctor will be able to evaluate your situation and health profile and decide which medication will be most helpful in giving you morning sickness relief. The medications prescribed are administered in three different ways depending on the severity of the morning sickness and the medication: orally, intravenously, and in suppository format.

I had hyperemesis, -which ,basically is 24 hours a day sickness :). It happens in about one percent of pregnancies and luckily has no bad effects on the child ( even if the mother is not having much fun :). The only thing is making sure you won't end up dehydrated ( some women have trouble even keeping down water !) if this happens ( you feel dizzy, dark urine, fatigue... ) just go to the E.R. and they will rehydrate you .
So. the bad news is that I tried everything and nothing worked . Therefore, if you've got the miracle pills , use them.
Save money on something else, but - if they work , they are worth their price.
The good news that in the great majority of cases this condition stops totally, or improves dramatically, when you reach 13 weeks,
So- hang in there, you are close.
And don't worry- even with such a rough start I had a healthy 9 pounds baby.

I had a rough time with morning sickness in early pregnancy. I was sick on a bus on the way to work one morning and it was so embarrassing! Anyway, I found that drinking ginger products helped a great deal - ginger sweets, ginger ale etc. Try that and see how you get on.

Hmmm, as for the prenatal vitamins, i could take them up until my 3 rd then i threw them up ... doctor said the most importnat time is the first 12 weeks and if i couldnt after that then not to worry. Hmmm, i also found i got less sick eatting more raw natural foods ... less chemicals, tins, packages etc. I ate loads of potatoes and pasta and veg and rice etc etc etc. I am a vegetarian but i also found myself really craving tuna ... so i chose to give in to that particular none vegetarian demand, i say just try to listen to your body. Maybe the throwing up and feeling sick is trying to rid your body of the stuff not healthy for baby, so try to tune into what may be healthy.
