Horrible situation, and I was in a similar position with a girlfriends parents threatening me at one point.
Why is it that they dislike him so much? Has something happened in the past to cause this dislike, or is it that they just don't think he is right for you? To advise you further I'd need more details upon this.
In the meantime, I suppose all you can do is talk to your mom to work out exactly what made her react in such a way
