reader, anonymous, writes (8 October 2008): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questionno its not like that, i go out twice a month for a break, as any single parent is entitled to. my mate has the same problem though, it aint jus me, her child is two years, so yeh, whats with guys these days, or am i just unlucky?

I'm being unfashionably judgemental but this just isn't the time to be out looking for romance.

Times change. It seems like nowadays women are expected to do the pursuing.
Maybe you're giving off a vibe that says, "I'm anxious for a relationship." Because when we reallly want company it seems there is nobody to be found. Then someone falls in your lap when you least expect (or want) it.
I'd just spend time getting to know your new baby for a while. Dont go trying to replace her daddy with another guy right away. And if he doesnt want to be in your guy's lives- let him walk too.
