A female reader, anonymous, writes (15 October 2008):

I've been in this situation but I'm married. If he loves you, then he will make an effort to make you feel comfortable. For example, if there is a particular girl you are jealous of, he should keep his conversations to basic and usually when you are around. If he talks on the phone with old female friends, he can set a time limit on those and keep you informed. If you guys can try these for like a month, you will feel better as you will be aware of all conversations and there will be no reason for you to get jealous then.

Another possibility is you think less of yourself in some way. So you need to work on loving yourself first and don't let your low self esteem ruin a good relationship.
