writes:I need help. I have a girlfriend who is hot. I'm not trying to sound arrogant but even girls have complimented her saying that she is. Although some guys think its weird that a shy person like me is in a relationship with her.Anyway she's had a bit more experience (sexually) then me. I've never actually had sex with anyone before, but she doesn't know that. Yet for the last 2 weeks she keeps asking when we're going to take the "next step". I said this friday as we both have no lectures/ seminars etc at university. But I'm a bit nervous. Is it normal to be nervous?

reader, anonymous, writes (22 February 2007): hunni, not to worry im a girl and ive slept with 11 ppl and im 21. im in a relationship now with a fab guy and the first time we did it i felt so nervous i was unsure! to be honest u shouldnt of set a date as that makes it worse knowing when and were like me and my fella did but to honest dont leave it to long as ull worry to much!! and once u've done it ull laugh, as its nothing to worry about..ask her what kinda things she likes to do (sexual) ask her are u enjoying it ect but not nervously as will put her off and im sure hunni ull be fine! have fun and be safe wear condoms!bless its nice to see guys worry as much as girls xxxxx

 Of course it's normal to be nervous. You might want to tell her. Girls are much more mature about sex than guys and she won't laugh at you, she'll even probably be willing to take the lead. It's honestly not a big deal. Taking care of the practical stuff will make you feel a lot more prepared. Make sure you have a box of condoms in your pocket and it'll give you the world of confidence.
