A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Alright listen everyone, me and my girlfriend had unprotected sex about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I thought she was on the pill and didn't wear a condom but it turns out it was a misunderstanding..she takes BC but its a ring thing that she puts in her vagina..and she didn't have it in. I didn't know but she feels like she ruined everything because she didn't tell me that she wasn't on it. This kind of confuses me because i dont understand why she just didn't say "I'm not on BC..get a condom." But thats beyond the point, so I'm going to cut to the chase.

She is now 3 days late on her period...she said she has taken bc for a while now, and took one month off to see what happened..she got some mild acne, and im hoping that not taking the bc could be messing with her period. Also, i pulled out a good bit before i even began to feel myself cum.. like right after i felt it i pulled out and came on her chest, no where close to her vagina. I know pre-cum can get a woman pregnant and am very concerned about this. What should i do i'm so scared right now!

Yes there is a possibilty. Though Pre-Cum contains less sperm than you're ejaculation would, there is still a chance. Changing BC can also off-set her period. I wouldn't panic to much. Give it a week and do a pregnancy test. Stressing about her period can also prolong it. My girlfriend was a week late before she came on so I know how it feels! Best of luck.

3 days late is nothing to freak out about.... and if she's messing around with her birth control, that could be having an effect to. Calm down, stop fighting about it and blaming each other, and she'll probably start bleeding in a week.

Why are you so worried if she is only 3 days late, She is probably late from stress of the situation. Take a early pregnancy test to find out there is no need in panicking yet when you really just don't know. Your saying why didn't she tell you to use a condom you need to take responsiblity too. You could have easily asked her if she was protected or better yet put a condom on yourself. It takes two to tango so you need to chill. I can see why she maybe upset because it sounds like you are blaming her and I am sure she hadn't mentioned it because she thought it wasn't a big issue she was some type of birth control. You two just made a bad choice find out if she is prego or not and if not take the proper precautions from now on.

masquerade711 agony auntI don't think it really matters whose fault it is...

First of all, alternating hormonal methods of birth control can alter a girl's menstrual cycle. I'm not familiar with the ring at all, so I'm not sure what kind of effects it can have by not using it.

If you didn't ejaculate inside of her, there's little to no chance that she is pregnant. Yes, pre-cum can get a woman pregnant, but these situations are few and far between.

Both of you need to stop panicking (especially her), because stress could be causing the delay as well. The later she waits to take a test, the more accurate it will be, however, if her period is already late, a home pregnancy test will be accurate enough if she were to take it today. Just remember to follow up with a visit to a doctor to confirm the result if her period still doesn't show up after a week or so.
