We are wondering what the cause of this is, if it is unhealthy / dangerous, and if there was something we could do to alleviate this. It is a little painful for her; and takes up to 10 or more minutes to dissipate. This not like the curling of toes that people hope for during sex.Any help would be appreciated.

I'm a nutritionist and have had this problem before and have taken magnesium tablets and it really helped :) the magnesium is important for the health of the muscles and tendons which cramp up if you dont have sufficient magnesium in your diet. best of luck!

Your post stuck out to me not because it's so bizarre sounding but because of your ages (41-50)and I'm hoping that she has or will visit a Dr soon. It may be something as benign as carpal and tarsal tunnel syndrome, which is not likely that she has it in all 4 limbs and only impacts her life at the moment of orgasm! It's more than likely an electrolite imbalance. If she takes blood pressure meds that can reduce potassium and at 41-50 yr old range she could easily have a calcium imbalance too, both of which causes muscle cramping and in the case of potassium can cause the heart muscle to malfunction too. Both Vit B6 and B12 have an impact on the nervous system and smooth skelital muscles can lead to more serious problems if not corrected.
See why I said I hope she's seeing a Dr about this! It may be nothing but it could be something major and you both would be better served by a medical professional.

Maybe it would be worthwhile seeing a doctor abt this if you are really worried. I take it when u say seize up you dont mean she is sated but rather in pain and cant move? I may be wrong but as far as i know this isnt normal.
