Kinda as in I can actually appear normal when I concentrate, but when I'm not focusing, that's when people can see that I am cross-eyed.In fact one of my friends just noticed, after hanging out with me for months, that my right eye wasn't looking at him. I'm usually good at maintaining focus but lately I've been losing it frequently, even when I'm trying to concentrate. This is a problem because we're trying to do a music video together and the last thing I want to worry about is my eye not following where I want it to go. I would just like to know if there is anyone out there that actually has complete control over their previously lazy eye. I always had hope that I could cure myself seeing as how I couldn't even control my right eye when I was in middle school. I only learned how to control it after I got tired of being teased in high school. My friends accept me for who I am. I know I am fortunate for this. Also, I don't feel like it's a major embarrasment to my life seeing as how I still talk to girls and there are even some that have been rumored to like me. I just feel like I could AND SHOULD be able to have complete control over this problem. I'm not being arrogant. I just feel like I was meant for something greater in life and my eye just wants to keep my self esteem from getting any higher. Thank you for reading and please give advise.

Have you spoken with an ophthalmologist or an optometrist about your condition? That's the first thing you should do. WebMD has information about strabismus (crossed eyes) here:

I quickly perused the link and it appears this condition can be treated with the help of a doctor.
Good luck! :)

The crossed eye in medical term is called strabismus caused by imbalance eye muscle. Botox injection has been used to treat this condition as it helps to relax the muscle in your eyes, returning it back into it's normal position.

There might be other procedure, Talk to your doctor/optometrist.

reader, anonymous, writes (10 June 2012): i have had a lazy eye since i was two years old...and i wear glasses all the time...my advice to you is go see an eye doctor because you may need glasses too...but it might not be as serious considering you have some control of your eye...i was told that actually the name for lazy eyes is not a good name because the eye is actually working so hard that it goes crossed...but about your confidence thing i stuggled with that too, when i was younger i would always take off my glasses because i didn't want to be different...then i realized that wearing glasses is not a bad thing because so many people wear glasses...i know what you mean about wanting control over your eye, i wish about 100 times a week that i didn't have to wear glasses but you can't control it (unless you situation is not as severe as mine btw i'm no eye doctor)... honestly meant for something greater in life? what makes you any better that the thousands of people that have to wear glasses today? and if someone judges you because of your eye problem then ignore them because someone who acts like that is called a jerk...btw i haven't had anyone say anything to me about my eye that ruined me...yeah i do wish that my eye was not crossed but i can't change it so lie with it cause your not the only one with eye problems...
