The other problem is that when they aren't falling out they act as if they are best friends and ignore everyone else! What can I do to a) try to get them to not fall out and b) stop them from being best friends or at least from ignoring the rest of us?? Thanks!

You cannot stop them from being best friends, at the end of the day this is the way that there friendship is designed. They care about each other but they also fall out on occasions sometimes this is a sign of a true friendship. I guess all you can do is stay out of there arguments and also when you feel like they are ignoring you then say it to them.
