writes:My friend likes to ask me whenever I see him if so and so girl(s) like him. I keep telling him I don't know, and to go ask them himself. It seems that's what he's constantly talking about and it bothers me. I always change the subject and let it drop, but then he brings it up again. How can I tell him that I don't want to talk about it without coming off harsh? Reply to this Question

reader, anonymous, writes (24 February 2010): hehehe. your friend is a very niave and inexperienced youngman otherwise he should realize that no self respecting girl likes to be asked such silly questions or having a boy lamenting himself or reminiscing an ex gf all the time. tell him laughingly to stop asking such silly questions as girls don't like them and anyway you don't know if they like him or not as you are not interested to know and that he should approach them himself and ask them for a date if interested.just bear and grin. we all have such comic friends when we are young.

 Well first of all the reason he is talkin about it with you is obviously because a very good friend of his. You are almost his connection to the girl world. Girls know all the gossip so he wants to know about anyone that likes him.
Is the reason you dont want to talk about it because you like him ... ?
Try tellin him that your uncomfortable descussing it around him because these girls have told you in confidence and as important as your friendship if, you cant brake their trust either. Something lads will never understand is the girl world. They dont realise that when you get told something by another girl, you can just go around telling everyone.
If that doesnt work you will have to tell him that your not going to answer his questions about who like him. Myabe the only way he will stop asking you is if you be harsh with him.

 I have a feeling that this guy likes you, but thinks that you are out of his league. The best thing to do if you don't like him that way, is to just keep telling him that you have no idea how the other girls feel about him. I you do like him, let him know.
