 When you say you're "friends with benefits", what kind of "stuff like that" are you talking about? Every time I hear that expression, I think of friends that sleep (have sex) together. If that's the kind of benefits you're referring to, you should know why he gets a full boner. It means he's ready for action. Otherwise, it's obvious he likes you, or you at least get him excited. Boners don't lie. LOL. So yes, it is normal, especially when you're 16.

It is quite normal for a guy of 16 to get erections frequently. Guys of all ages get turned on when kissing a girl they fancy, and in young lads in particular this often means an erection.
If you like kissing him, go ahead and don't worry about the erection. Just remember that it doesn't mean you have to have sex with him, and doesn't mean anything else about your relationship other than that he finds you sexually attractive.
