reader, anonymous, writes (7 May 2010): He probably thinks hes being very funny and doesnt realise how much you dislike it. I would just have a private word with him. Tell him you dont like the nature of his jokes and ask him to get some new material that doesnt involve your family pet and anal sex. Infact you could try getting him a joke book and see if that inspires him. Failing that. Have a joke back at him and say youre starting to wonder about his fixation with the dog and ask if hes ok!

 You can offer him passive resistance. When he cracks that joke, get up and move away from him. He would get the message.
