He now has problems walking because everything is so stiff from sitting down all those hours for 30 years. He is the most hard working man i know and hardly complains but just looks so tired. He is finally retiring because of alot changes coming and i think he is afraid if he doesn't he will not live much longer with the stress and the hours. I am very happy he will be.I want to do something special for him but i am not sure what...i have been meeting him on his bus to take pictures with him. I now regret not having more from the years that have passed but i was also young at the time.I am not sure what to do..i wanted to create a scrapbook but i don't even know how to do that..do i glue the pictures in them? i also bought some postcards that show pictures of his route as a rememberance. Ordered a mug as well with his picture on it driving and a magnet.Just wondering if anyone had any special ideas for me. Its hard to create a scrapbook with his particular occupuation. I feel like i may not have enough to place in it.I was thinking i can write inpspirationals quotes in it, post cards, a remember when booklet of the year he started.Does anyone have any more ideas?? it would be greatly appreciated.Thank you all!! Those all sound like fantastic ideas! And usually with scrapbooks you can buy scrapbook paper (perhaps look for something transit themed?) to put the pictures on. Your idea of quotes and the pictures is wonderful! Perhaps create a pseudo gift-basket with the mug, scrapbook, and maybe a memento? (Did he always wear a certain type of hat, was there a certain place he always loved driving by, ect). But I think whatever you make the love will absolutely poor out of it, and that's more important than the actual gift. (:
