We were together for about 5 months and when it ended it was messy, confusing. We remained close friends and he's never had another girl. I really loved him so much and it hurt so bad when we broke up. After the breakup we had sex occasionally. I and S cant stand each other. I started sacrificing my friendship with I because of my relationship with S. And now 'I' was in very serious car accident yesterday, I just been to the hospital and he looks terrible. I cant stop crying and thinking about him. I am so confused all the old feelings are coming back. Are these feelings of love or just shock?

You are fond of your ex and seeing him so helpless in this way has confused your emotions. You probably were shocked to see him lying there helpless and wanted to cuddle him and let him know everything's going to be all right. You have to sit down and think about what and who you want to be with.
It may be a good idea to let your current boyfriend know that you want to go and see your ex regularly in hospital, he is a friend after all, even ask him to come with you to reassure him that you have no alterior motive. As your ex gets better, your feelings might change again so don't do anything too drastic just yet.
Give it time, remain with your current boyfriend for the moment and see how things go. It will all become much clearer with time.
