My ex has always cheated and now I like his best friend! Should I go for it?

well okay so i was with this guy we were together 4 years and we have a lil girl together but the whole time we were together he cheated on me this last time it was with my sister yes my sister but thats a whole nother subject ok so i have this problem lol i have had a crush on his best friend since i met him but i never made an effort 2 let him know but my ex knew and would throw tantrums everytime we all got together but all my friends kept tellin me that when i wasn't lookin that the bestfriend would stare at me and he's always really nice and smiles all the time when i'm around and if my ex would pass out he would try 2 get me 2 drink with him and all i would have 2 say is i was hungry and boom he ordered pizza the way i wanted it lol so well when me and my ex broke up i couldn't get in touch with my ex all weekend so i called his bestfriend and he didn't answer so 2 am in the morning i sent him a text askin if my ex was there and he sent me a text back tellin me he was sorry and didnt want me 2 be mad at him and he didn't know it was me and asked me 2 call him i told him y me and my x weren't together and he was tellin me he was sorry my x failed 2 tell him we even broke up but well we were on the phone just talkin till 5 am n e ways and well i finally sent him a text tellin him that i liked him and thought he was cute and well he laughed and said i didnt know when we hung up the phone i told him as far as i was concerned i hadnt talked 2 him and he said sounds good 2 me lol he still hasnt said n e thing 2 the x and well he's always played with me when my x wasnt around and 1 of there other friend was flirtin with me and the bestfriend looked at him and told him he wished so what do yall think should i continue 2 talk 2 this guy does he like me like i like him???? please help
