 He would lie because he's immature and can't accept his feelings. The fact of the matter though is that it doesn't matter whether it's your cousin or your ex who is lying or even neither of them. Your ex is married now. You might not like it but it's what's happened and it'd be wrong to make any move to get him back now. He's not yours anymore and hard as it is, you need to accept it.
