writes: I am 16. There is this guy I know that we are kinda friends. We don't hang out but he talks to me on IM a lot. He is a friend of my old boyfriend. Most of the time we have been talking, he's had a girlfriend. A few days ago he told me she dumped him and then he asks me what my cell number is. Now about 5 days have gone by and he's calling me and texting me alot and wants to hang out. Is he having a rebound thing? He's nice and I like him but I don't want to be used. Also there's this guy I like that kinda likes me but is scared to go out with anyone right now because of getting hurt in the past. I think I've slowly been getting his trust that I wouldn't hurt him. If I did hang out with the first guy just as friends would that scare him further away though? He knows I do hang out with some guys, but they are like guys that don't seem like any competition to him. (littler and shorter than me, more immature looking/acting than him) the guy that got dumped is older and hot.

 The term a cheater is always a cheater goes for texting too. If he was dating a girl but texting to you then you were his texting mistress and he will do the same to you while dating you. Do yourself a favor and let this fish swim by, for next time it might not be just emotional cheating he does.
As for the older guy he has clearly stated that he wants space and time to heal.
Though most time when people use the excuse that they need time and space it is the nice way to let someone know they are not interested. Either it be he really wants time to heal or isn't interested in a romantic relationship with you, pursuing him will ruin any chance you have. It is your choice though.
I would suggest getting involved in your community, volunteer, go to a local radio station, newspaper, TV station, ect and tell them you want a internship (working for free) and get your head away from guys and a great guy will appear.
