writes:So I'm in a totally frustrating situation with my crush right now! Before summer break, we would talk every day at school, and flirt like crazy (verbally, but I also read up on body language and he matched pretty much everything). Through the summer, I worked a lot and so did he, so we spoke extremely rarely and never hung out. Today was the first day back and it's so awkward! I still really like him, but I'm too nervous to initiate the conversation again for fear that he is over me, so I ignore him. And likewise, he's ignoring me... I hate it! I was so worried that he was ignoring me because he's over me, but then I thought, maybe he's doing it for the same reasons as I am. I don't know. Should I just try and start a conversation again? Or should I wait for him to start it like I am doing? It sucks. Today he walked by with his friends and I was with two of my friends, they said hi to him and he said hi back but neither of us looked at the other. Last year, he would've stopped to talk with me or said hi or at least looked at me...It's really getting me down. Any advice is appreciated. Also, I have no idea if we have any classes together. I wasn't in class today because I was part of a group doing grade 9 orientation...

 Just say hi and ask him how his summer was and go from there. He might just be shy and worried that after a whole summer apart you don't like him either.

reader, anonymous, writes (7 September 2011): It seems like a good idea if u just say hi and make small talk about the busy summer. Then if that seems good bring up the school schedule to see how interested he is. It doesn't hurt to try.
