 Difficult to tell. But I think it will factor heavily on his treatment towards you and how he acts in your relationship in the future. He should be doing everything he can to earn your trust. If he continues to do things that shake your trust in him, then no... it won't ever go away.
Everybody makes a mistake, it's how you move forward from that mistake is what defines the person you are. In this case, what kind of person HE is.
