writes:My best guy friend of about 8-9 years told me he loved me the other day. Im in a relationship of 7 years. I do NOT feel he same about him, hes just a friend. I dont want to lose my friend but i dont want him to love me! We agreed to not talk or hang out for a few months and see if he changes his mind after that. If not we will sever all ties and go our seperate ways. My boyfriend said he knew all along, which kinda of makes me feel dumb. haha He said he does feel a little uncomfertable with me hanging out with him agian but says he trusts me. Should I write him off as a friend or ... I really dont know what to do.

 I went through a very similar situation, best friend said he loved me, boyfriend knew the entire time and had actually told me, I said "no no, just friends" ha. Well you were right in severing all contact with him. I wouldn't say to write him off completely as he has been your friend for 8 years. But definitely no contact for a couple months. It'll be impossible to be friends if he loves you. It wouldn't be fair to your boyfriend or your friend. So take time apart. Maybe in a couple months he will have met someone else or accepted it, who knows. But no contact for awhile! Good luck!
