Recently i met one of the most amazing guys ive ever met. I love him so much and i feel like i would die without him. We're serious about our relationship and plan on getting married someday. however his life plan is to join the army and while we joke around about it sometimes, i dont know what i'll do if he gets put on the front line. ive mentioned this to him and he promised to do his best to stay alive, he still might go and i worry terribly. what can i do to stop worrying and what if he does get put on the front line?

Trust is always a big issue in this kinda thing. All you gotta do is support him. If he tells you hes going to stay alive, then yes 9 times out of 10 he wont die. Men try harder when they want to impress a woman. Plus, in those big movies you see out there where the guy is about to die and thinks of his girlfriend/wife, that kinda stuff generally is what happens to real soldiers as well...my friend who is in the army said that he almost got into some trouble with some insurgents during his tour. Now, even though he managed to stay out of sight and harms way, he still said that the first thing that came to his mind was his girlfriend, and that gave him that extra need to stay alive.

You got this in the bag :)

Here in Britain there are support groups families of those in the army. I'mm sure there are some support groups in America as well. Perhaps if you were able to mix with other women who were in your situation that would help?
