Hey guys, I need some advice. My boyfriend wants me to get a nude/topless photo of myself done professionally so that he can put it up in his house. I'm not sure because I don't know why he came up with the idea. He said he would do one for me in return but I don't really know what to say. Course I think it's a bit mad but on the other hand I'm thinking it's quite personal so maybe he loves my body to want me to do this. Any advice on what I should do and anyone done this before themselves???

Hey guys, Thnx a lot for all your advice. I know he wants the photos done 'tastefully' as that's what he told me but as I've said before I'm not sure. Even a photo of the both of us as a couple seems iffy so I think I'll be telling him no for now and hope he understands y. Thnx again for ur comments x

TasteofIndia agony auntHi sweetness,

I've taken more of my share of nude shots. I love fine art nude photography, and you can get tons of people to do these shoots for free. Mostly college students or professional photographers building their portfolio. If you end up doing this, I urge you to be very careful about who you go to. Some guys are really scummy and will use your photos inappropriatly.

A good way to tell who are the creeps and who aren't: tell the photographer you'd like your boyfriend to be there... just to make you feel safer. If they disagree with that, they're probably a scummy, sketchy photographer.

Find someone who works with ART, not porn. You need to find a photographer who will not use your picture inappropriately. Trust me, there are tons of really classy photographers out there who will take gorgeous pictures of you, keep them very tasteful and make you comfortable... just make sure that you are safe about EVERYTHING.

Anyhow, sweetness... from the way you worded your question, I don't think you should do this. You shouldn't take these pictures if you feel uncomfortable doing them, and I don't think your boyfriend will keep these as private as you'd like. As the others pointed out, you don't want him showing these pictures to his friend or his parents or whoever...

Only do this if you are comfortable with having your naked body on film. You don't want to regret this in the future...

That's my two cents, sweetness. Good luck!

A female reader, stina United States +, writes (31 May 2007):

stina agony auntHi there Anonymous,

The very first thing that I thought of is the same thing that DV1 said - "Do you want all of his friends seeing you in that fashion?" Would it be awkward for you knowing that his friends (and possibly your guy's family if they come over for an unexpected visit) may know what you look like naked?

I also think you should think about what may happen if you two break up. People sometimes aren't themselves during a break up, and the last thing you probably want is for your nude image to be plastered around the internet and/or shown to everyone he knows.

But if it's done for the sake of ART, then that's totally different. At least in my opinion (I could go on for hours about this, but I won't). But I don't think that's what he's going for here. lol

Just make sure you're comfortable and don't do anything that you feel hesitant about. You probably feel hesitant for a very good reason.

Take care.

eyeswideopen agony auntA good professional photographer may be able to take a very sexy nude picture of you that doesn't really reveal all the much. That would be art not porn.

DV1 agony auntDo you want all of his friends seeing you in that fashion? If you're proud to show off to everyone, go for it. I personally wouldn't do it. Your body is a private thing until you're ready to share it... If you put it up, everyone he knows will see it, and possibly think of certain things of you.

candy00s agony auntI dont think you should agree to doing this unless you are 100% sure about it. Are you okay with others seeing you naked on his wall or whereever this may end up?

He probably thinks its a good idea and it is if you can trust him completely.
