writes: My boyfriend says I am a comedy sitcom show and that I am funny....He says this especially during an argument or after an argument. Why does it make me feel bad?Should I? I'm feeling like I'm a joke to him. He is the emotionally verbally abusive type of guy..I plan on dumping him but just want to make sense of this comment. Please if you have any thoughts? Well I'd say that it is very patronising of him- he isn't taking you seriously. It would be okay if you were doing something funny- like jokes or falling over (comedy style), but for him to say that in that context is just nasty.
Have you tried explaining this to him? You want to be taken seriously, and why shouldn't you? If he isn't taking you seriously then tell him that things arn't working.

Tell him his hands are too small and you don't like his frilly white shirt, so the arrangement is off.
