 I don't know what he means. I do think this is a sign of trouble. He seems to be telling you that he gets bored, and that he may eventually dump you.
Now, don't you agonize about preventing him from leaving. Just be yourself. Maybe he has issues. If he "gets bored", well, let him go away.
