reader, anonymous, writes (20 November 2007): Proceed with caution. Your bf has some problems, hun. He does not trust and he is an unhappy person. I think you are picking up on that. If a guy is obsessed he will be abusive as well. Usually when someone is obsessed they do not love. They treat their gf's like a 'possession' and 'only' their feelings count and it comes out as severe jealousy, low self-esteem and insecurities. His feelings over-ride everything. A healthy love interest does not do this. A perosn who is healthy and truely loving you... allows you space, independence, respects you, trusts you, encourages your autonomy, supports you emotionally and is generous and loving toward you.
