writes:Hey guys im a frequent user of this site and i absolutely love the feedback i get on my questions. So i was just wondering if anyone can help me with this one. My boyfriend (whom i absolutely LOVE)and i are thinking on having sex. PROBLEM IS i cant go on the pill and we are definatly gonna use a condom but i also wanted to use some spermicide,but hes all freaky about it:S and i dont know why its confusing me so much. He's usually really cool with anything but hes heart set on not using ANY spermicide even when i say its safer for me and will make sure i dont get pregnant. Is it because its killing off his sperm?:STHANKX I NEED YOUR HELP!!

 Not really sure I know what the problem is. You could buy the condoms yourself and make sure you get the ones with spermicide. Take em out the box and put them in your 'secret' place so that when the time comes (pun intended) you can just pull one out and hand it to him. He'll never know.
Maybe he's allergic to the spermicide. I don't know.

 i had this problem once. and i came to the conclusion he was freaked out because "spermicide" sounds a bit too much like "pesticide" and just sounded a bit too horrific to be anywhere near his baby making bits and his little swimmers. i'm glad you're being extra careful and looking to take extra precautions but if he really doesnt want to use spermicide then look at other options. and maybe remind him that condoms have spermicide in them anyway

reader, anonymous, writes (21 September 2007): Why haven't you asked him why he's dead set against using spermicide??? It is a logical question I think. Maybe he had a previous bad experience with spermicide? Or maybe he used it before & it made the girl's vagina too wet & he couldn't get enough friction to fully enjoy himself? I think it's kinda icky myself & wouldn't feel comfortable using it because of the excessive wetness factor. But the only way to know for sure is to ask him.

but seriously, i think the reason he is so against it is because it's male pride. you are't going on the pill so why should he take precautions. as long as he's happy to wear a condom, they're 98% effective at least.
