have you ever heard the excuse"i stopped to help a disoriontated blind man that was walking out into the street, and gave him a ride. when you ask your supposed exclusive boyfriend what took him so long? and he was only driving 1mile up the street to buy cigarettes at walgreens,and was gone for an hour.

lexilou agony auntWell an hour wouldnt give him much time unless he was seeing someone who lived right next door to where he was going. SOunds to me like he probably went for a pint somewhere!!!!

If it's an excuse rather than a genuine reason it's certainly original!

Maybe the blind man lived some distance away. Maybe there was a long queue at Walgreens. Maybe your fella stopped for a smoke in a lay-by. Maybe he drove slowly to enjoy the scenery. Maybe he got lost after dropping off the blind man. Maybe the traffic lights were stuck on red. Maybe the blind man offered him a cup of coffee in appreciation of his kindness. I could go on.

Add all those possibilities together and it could easily have taken an hour.

I don't think this is an issue about excuses so much as one of trust.
