Well an hour wouldnt give him much time unless he was seeing someone who lived right next door to where he was going. SOunds to me like he probably went for a pint somewhere!!!!

Maybe the blind man lived some distance away. Maybe there was a long queue at Walgreens. Maybe your fella stopped for a smoke in a lay-by. Maybe he drove slowly to enjoy the scenery. Maybe he got lost after dropping off the blind man. Maybe the traffic lights were stuck on red. Maybe the blind man offered him a cup of coffee in appreciation of his kindness. I could go on.
Add all those possibilities together and it could easily have taken an hour.
I don't think this is an issue about excuses so much as one of trust.
