He doesn't seem to be depressed, is behaving normal in all other areas, but doesn't shower and wash his hair as often and it looks greasy and gross. One morning we were going to breakfast, and he literally rolled out of bed with his hair sticking out all over the place and went to the cafe to eat with me. In the car I sort of hinted that he might want to run a comb through his hair before we went inside and he said, "Nah, it's the week-end and I don't care what I look like.....Why are you ashamed of me?" I told me not exactly ashamed, but if he combed his hair it would be nice. He never did. He's also getting a gut which is unattractive but I don't want to seem vain, I know I'll love him regardless just don't know what to do. Should I be concerned???

Ok, the gut thing is easy as you just get all "caring" and slightly irritating about how much it increases his risk of heart attack etc etc and then make him go swimming with you and romantic LONG walks by the river etc.
As for the rest, you just have to tell him / tease him till he gets the message.
Make him wait while you put 18 pairs of shoes and matching lip sticks on and point out that you are the one making effort for the BOTH of you now. As soon as he starts showering then shower him with love etc.
Positive re-enforcement.
Good Luck!! xx
