Question - (19 February 2009) 3 Answers - (Newest, 20 February 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I'm 14 years old, I have MSN and a lot of people I didn't know added me, I blocked them and deleted them but once one freak added me several more did it was like when I didn't come online on MSN a lot of people added me and when I came on I had a loads asking to accept them. Obviosuly I'm not that stupid, I deleted and blocked them all. I was fed up so I made a new addy in order for it to be just my mates, once again lately freaks have been adding me. I have asked them where they have been getting my addy and they come up with stupid reasons such as bus ticket, and yellow pages.

My intention was still to block them I just wanted to know how they get it so I can stop it from happening. But obviously I don't how, cause I hardly give my addy out to anyone, I block and delete anyone I do not know. It's getting quiet tiring and annoying of weird people adding me, and I can't be asked to make another addy and then adding my mates on it again.

How can I stop weird uknown people to adding me. Is there any way?? And they can't even get my addy from facebook, HI5, bebo etc... cause I don't have accounts with any of them, I prefer not to. Any ideas on how they get my addy?? and any way of how to stop people adding me?

Somebody could have written your MSN in a cubicle in the boys toilets as a prank.

Or posted it on a forum for pervs, an ex boyfrined maybe? Someone with a grudge anyway.

AskEve agony auntIn your contact box, click on Tools (up at the top) then options/privacy. You will see a box in there entitled "only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages." TICK IT!

In the meantime do a clear out of all the people you DON'T want to talk to any more and block and delete them (right click on their name to block and delete). By going in to tools/options/privacy you will see two sections, one is your "Allow" list, the other is your "Blocked" list. Check everyone on your allow list, if you don't want them there then right click on their name and MOVE to blocked list!

This should solve your problem. A word of warning... NEVER click the grey box adding anyone UNLESS you know who you are!!!

Good luck.
