writes:I had cramping last monday, thought my period was comming a week early, but it didnt. I am now 3 days late for my period - i run a very reliable cycle and tested on the first missed day but it was negative. i will test again in a few days but was wondering how long it took before you got a positive result and what test you used?Thanks xx

 I got a positive the week after I had unprotected sex, which was also the week I was supposed to get my period.
I used EPT.
For a more reliable test, go to your doctor. I'd wait another week though, since at home tests rely on detection of a pregnancy hormone, and that can vary among women.
