It reminds me the case of Gibson getting stuck with the "gift" of hearing women's thoughts - then he didn't consider it a blessing. Understanding the other sex is so complex. When you see some tendencies in most men you in your turn may tend to generalise them and it could result faulty. If you want to understand them so as to be anticipative and surprise them, or simply know what to expect and be cautious - I don't think there's a recipe. It's about the intuition confirmed or weakened in time by facts. I think though you can portray what you wish, and trust your chances - someone will come and wish as well to understand you.
