Hello everyone,

Well basically I have to meet my boyfriends parents in a few days time and I'm really scared. I've never met any of my Ex boyfriends parents so I don't really know what to expect. I'm quite a shy person but I really want to make a good impression on them so please help. I'd like to hear from people who have been in the situation before, give me some tips please.

Thanks =)

bonym agony auntSweetie just be yourself and dont pretend to be someone you are not. Let them see the real you, as I am sure you are a lovely young lady, the fact you are writing in for advice means that you obviously want to make a good impression and care about what they think, thats admirable however I wont advise anything apart from being yourself, obviously you know that politeness and tactfulness are useful qualities, but be you and dont be nervous. Take care and good luck. xXx

Phoebe Halliwell agony aunthey there,

well, when I went to meet my boyfriends' parents (i'm quite shy too) I was just myself. Laugh at his Dad's jokes, offer to help do the washing up if you're having dinner. That kind of thing.

Be nice, be helpful, be polite. they're bound to love you!

Just by reading your post I know they're going to like you.

Hope it all goes well,

Phoebe xxxxx

A reader, anonymous, writes (2 September 2006):

It is natural to be nervous. This sound very...exclusive as meeting the parents shows how highly he thinks and feels about you so take comfort in that.

Be yourself. Nervous, cute, shy, and loving yourself.

Ask about them. Be interested in what they say and do. What are their hobbies? What are their favorite places to go/vacation?

Good Luck.
