The docs are asking if it could be herditary but none of my living relatives have had any of the same symptoms. My nan who died in 2004 died of a burst abscess internally. I was wondering if it is possible to get hold of her medical records. I have just had this thought and not had chance to speak to the docs.I was wondering if any one had the same problems with medical records and could advise me?Thanks in advance. Medical records are kept on file for long periods of time, but if she died in 2004 I doubt they'll have been transferred onto the new NHS system.
Her doctor should still have access to her notes but I'm not sure on the legality of releasing them, but I should think he can check them and discuss her case with your doctor.
This of course is in the ideal world, and we are talking about the NHS, so the records are likely to be lost on an underground train, and doctors couldn't possibly talk to one another, and don't forget all the bureaucracy that will go along with this!
It's worth a try but I wouldn't get your hopes up, you get what you pay for and the NHS is free!
