Hello there,

Recently I have been noticing little lumps on my neck around the sides, just below my ear and back of nect etc.

I've noticed them for about 2 wks now and was getting a bit concerned. Today a big lump come up on my neck and it was filled with puss and blood I popped it but still feels like there is loads of 'shit' in other words inside it. I've tried getting more out but I can't and it's tender.

Anyone know what should I do or why it is occuring. I've had 2 tattoo's on my neck about 3 months back but I didn't think that would be the reason.

Sorry for the bit 'disgusting' post but bit concerned.

Thanks

It could also be swollen glands. It's probably nothing, just go to the doctor and get it checked out.

Tisha-1 agony auntSounds like a furuncle (not the kind uncles we have here at DearCupid, of course!), also known as a boil.

As it sounds painful and possibly infected, do take Gina's advice and contact your doctor or go to the A and E if it is truly painful.

According to this website, boils can be contagious! So make sure you wash all clothing and bedding that has come in contact with it. And if you used a needle to pop it, or unsterilized hands, you could have caused a worse infection. And there are indeed antibiotic-resistant strains of Staph (which is what causes the boil) so you do need to have it evaluated and treated; you don't want to take risks with your health!

Take care.

Fairy_Lu agony auntI dont think it is to do with the tats as you would have a reaction within the first few days not 3 months on, i suggest you book in and see your doctor hun might not be anything but best to let someone check it out for you.
