writes: i have an lump under my armpit ! its the size of a pea !! some people told me its just a sweat gland since the weather is changin and i sweat a lot! the thing is . its not painful so i guess its not something serious , i went to see a doctor and he told me that i need to get it removed and then send it to a lab to see what it is and thats what kinda freakin me out now !! could it be some kind of cancer or something !! i mean its not painful at all but ofcourse u can still see it coz its kinda size of a pea like i said !! reader, anonymous, writes (5 March 2011): That sounds like a cyst that needs to be lanced and drained. It is probably from your antipersperant clogging your sweat glands. Use a body exfoliant or a washcloth to exfoliate under your arms when you shower to prevent it from happening again.

reader, anonymous, writes (5 March 2011): It's very, very unlikely to be cancer at your age. Not impossible but I really wouldn't worry until you've actually got the results back from your doctor. The majority of the time, these things only turn out to be cysts.

It's probably not serious. But if in the unlikely even that it is cancer, the faster you deal with it the better. Go get that biopsy done ASAP.

reader, anonymous, writes (5 March 2011): GO TO YOUR DR AGAIN AND ASK FOR A MAMMOGRAM!!! I found a lump too in May and was diagnosed with Brest Cancer after a mammogram and biopsy! If it is then you caught it and get can get it sorted! I just finished my treatments and all done!! But if I didnt get it checked out as soon as I found it I might not be here to give you this advice!! Let me know how you make on!

It might just be a cyst that needs draining. But go and see a specialist. It could very well be cancer, but don't panic, tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) so go and see about getting it looked that, this is the only way you'll stop freaking out.Cancer is treatable nowadays, and survival rates are pretty high. Go to your hospital, your doctor should really have refered you there.
