Nithyanala agony auntSince you've never met her, she probably thinks (correctly) that you don't really have much of an idea of what 'love' means and therefore does not take it seriously.

At thirteen it's doubtful that you know what you want anyway. If you like this girl you'd be better served be taking it slow.

A female reader, followtheblackrabbit Cayman Islands +, writes (24 October 2010):

followtheblackrabbit agony auntActions speak louder than words. People use "I love you" aaalll the time without meaning it so it loses substance. So, it's best if you two actually meet, take time to know each other outside the computer-or at the very least, speak on the phone. This girl is trying to tell you to put some brakes on, to slow down...you don't know her in real life yet and there's still a lot you two don't know about each other. If you ever choose a LDR, I hope you're not too far! My 1st bf was in another state and it was tough! One very sweet thing he did to show affection was send me roses every month :p Right now, take it slow with her. Be great friends and little by little, love might enter the picture.
