In nonvisible places and ones that don't hurt! (I once got one on my thigh that hurt so bad I couldn't run for my bus :S). I never show anyone, they're between me and my "love" interest. They're fun at the moment. But I'm guessing I'll grow out of it :D

On the neck, my cheek (yep!) And then the discreet ones where no one would see them...
I guess it was a novelty at first. A bit naïve as well. But sooooo romantic then (my eyes rolling)
NOW OMG!!! What was I thinking then???? Its so gross! Its so childish. What was I thinking really? I actually cringe when I see people with their "ownership stamp" . But I really go overboard when I notice them on men.
But as some Aunts have said: back in (our) day.....

Finally, a hickey question! They are goofy.

they are stupid.
I hate having them the problem is that the things we like to do tend to cause them... the spots that like that kind of nibbling tend to be visible...
ugh... at 16 I thought they were a badge of honor as do most teens.

They are private and it is embarrassing if others can see them. Aside from that I don't care either way.

Sometimes it's accidental. I've always tried to be mindful of that and not leave any in a visible area.
My husband and I while we were just beginning dating got carried away, and he left one accidentally in a very conspicuous place. He was more embarrassed about it than I did! I left one on him back in fun...but not in a conspicuous place.
When people do it intentionally to show, it is marking territory. But, if both parties don't mind, who cares what other people think about it?

Just plain tacky.
When I was your age, the only girls sporting them were whores. If you walked around looking like a leopard, you had a label to go with it.

When I was 14, they were the absolute height of sexual scandal. "Did you see Marybeth has a HICKEY on her NECK?" Lots of giggles and laughing about them.
Now, they are just tissue damage on sensitive neck skin. So the age range of your respondents will matter. Back at your age? They were hot. Now, they are simply silly.

I don't see the point. They hurt to get, they're not very sexy to give, and they look silly.

A
