It's going to be a challenge but stay strong and don't get jealous if your partner goes out and makes new friends - remember they are only friends and love is very very different.
Lots of people do stay together throughout university for 3,4 and even 5 years! And so could you - I hope you do. Keep smiling and i truely wish you the best of luck :-)

If you both have computers, I would suggest MSN and a webcam. This would help and make the distance a little more bearable. I am sort of in the same situation myself and have to travel to see my fiancee. I try to get up to see her at least once a month but have been up for the last 3 weekends. It is very difficult, but the people involved miss eachother and look forward to every moment together.
When you do get to spend some time together, make every moment count and then say I love you just after the last kiss.

Hello, my brother's girlfriend is at university, and he takes the train down every weekend to see her, basicly, see each other at weekends (if possible!) and set a schedule when you can ring and chat (example, every night at 8pm, or every other night etc), make sure you talk about what each other has been up 2, and keep track of and take an interest in what they are doing, just make the effort to see them as much as possible and you will be fine.
good luck :)
