Hello!

So my boyfriend and I have been really getting along. He lives in the netherlands and I live in New york. I like this long distant relationship, because, I dunno. It seems like it's more fun, and we always have something to talk about. He's coming to New York this christmas to see me. So Sweet of him!

I'm kinda a person who gets really upset/excited quickly and likes to talk, while he doesn't talk much and is always calm. Hm. Kinda like that couple from the movie UP.

I plan on going to the netherlands one day to be with him. But, I wanna know more about it. I don't wanna end up there, not knowing anything. Lol. All I know so-far is that, the netherlands is VERY flat, And it rains a lot. And it's Cold? I'd like to know more than that though. I love the cold, but I don't really like rain too much. But Rain can be fun sometimes. And Flat land... I hope it's not extrememly flat. I'll miss my little hills that i have in New York! haha!

He told me he really likes Zuidlaren, and that I might like it too. He even told me there was a city near there. So that sounds great. I love cities.

Also, another little problem is that, christmas is almost here, and I kinda gained a few pounds. I would like to loose a few pounds, but I kinda dunno how. everything I've tried hasn't been working. I know it's not going to happen over night, but I would like to start.

so what I would like to know is:

-What can I do to loose weight? (diets aren't working.)

-Where can I find out more about the netherlands and Zuidlaren?

-Where can I go to learn dutch without it getting mixed up with German? (Many sites I went to, said it was dutch, but it was german.)

Losing weight? Ive shed 40 pounds but put back on about 30, in a pretty healthy way tho. Eat smaller meals...as this gives your metabolism a steady flow of energy. Try to eat about 4 a day vs big meals as those give your body a shock and ur metabolism says "well, how the hell am i supposed to break all this food down at once?"...ur body can panic and it can not get digested well and over time that can develop fat.

Also, stay away from fast food and booze. I mean stay away permanently. No moderation when youre trying to lose weight. You cut those things out youre cutting calories thus they add to potential weight loss.

Lastly, try to exercise for 30 minutes three times a week, even just walking. Im a psycho with exercise lol but that is what normal people do. I'll advise it.

Ask your BF about holland! He's the best source cause he has first hand experience. Write him letters and show him a great interest. That way he'll know youre serious and would help you!

You can learn dutch by utilizing some free torrents I bet on websites...rosetta stone is dynamite so i'll go there with ya and reco it. Good luck with everything.

1. Up the working out, try to go every second day or at least 3 times a week. Experiment so it doesn't become a chore. Get friends to join in so it's not lonely, gives u motivation. Do it for yourself not for him tho.

2. Get some travel books, look on the net, there'll be lots of cool info in some of the books about overseas. Just get it from anywhere. Ask him queries too!

3. Look in directory or paper for language schools or tutoring. Even if you ring them and ask for refrences of where to go, ie are there any classes around. An easy way to start is go get library books, they usually have dictionaries and books from different countries. And start learning vocab on your own. Think how fun it will be to learn it and go somewhere exciting and new with this new guy!

Good luck and have fun :)
