Do you think since i had it for so long it probably took effect on me already? Is there surgery out there to fix it or is it permanant? Please answer both questions for me, thank you so much.

And you should also be aware that you can still catch the disease again even if you have been treated. So be safe with your sex and always get a clamidia test from somewhere like http://www.chlamydia-test.co.uk/clamidia-test.htm if you're not sure.

The only way to put your mind at rest is to get your doctor to check and confirm. If left untreated, Chlamydia can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) and infertility. It's not worth taking the risk. You can get tests from your local pharmacy or on line from sites like http://www.chlamydia-test.co.uk

I am sure that there must be a way (besides trying to get pregnant) to find out at the doc. And I do believe that it is possible, if left untreated that long, that you could be infertile. But usually it ONLY poses a problem if the chlamydia has travelled to your ovaries and has caused PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). So if your doc didn't mention that you had PID, then you might be lucky on this one. Check out this website http://www.cdc.gov/std/PID/STDFact-PID.htm. I just found it.But you know, make an appointment. Just to be safe. With all the technology out there, I think you will find that there are many treatments out there for you to be able to overcome this should there be a problem. ok? My prayers are with you. I feel like you are going to be ok. :)

Well any STD that is not treated for a long time can cause infertility. My best advice is go to the gynocologist ASAP. There they can probably do some tests to determine if any damage has been done.
