Me and my sister in law was use to be very close 3 years ago even all my family doesnt like her it didnt stop me to be friend to her. After 1 year she said she wanna open a bussiness and she ask a little help from me regarding capital. I got a job and my husband had too so i lend her money. she said we will share to the interest of this bussiness she will open. she did it but after 2 months, things change. i was out of the country so i dont really see whats goin on in d bussiness so i just rely on trusting her. after 3 months of bussiness she call me and tell me, that she will stop the bussiness because its not working good. she said she will sale all the stuff that we buy so she can pay me back the money that she borrow to me as a capital. but after a month she said she already sold the material but since im out abroad she will put first the money in the bank. so after 2 months i go back home and ask for the money. she said her sister borrow it." i know its disgusting but i cant do anything. she said i have to wait a little time and she will pay me slowly. i really have nothing can do. i was forced to get out again abroad because of my job, but then when she find out that i am out abroad again. she cut off her phone etc. all things that i can contact her, i mean everything. i feel so angry and hopeless because i really can not do anything. her husband which is my brother is on her side of course and even tell me, he has no money to pay for it and tell me a lot of bad words something like dat. my husband is very angry now because its not small amount of money what she took from me and my husband of course. I am very very angry but so hopeless because i know that if she really dont pay me back i really can not do anything. this is my and my husband money, if she dont pay me then my husband and me are gonna be the one who will have a problem please help me, i really do need an advice pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...im in the middle of hot stone pleaseeee.... thanks.

reader, anonymous, writes (7 October 2009): I think you could use some legal advice, I have no idea what the laws are in your country around personal loans, but you should be able to prove the exchange of money was used for a business and that it is owed to you...I hope you have some sort of documentation such as canceled checks, promisory notes or even back and forth from your sister in law.
Hopefully, when they get the money they will pay you back. That is why I never lend money to a family member or anyone else unless I can afford not to be paid back. If I can't afford to lose it then I can't afford to lend it.
