I had a lot of trouble coping with the fact that he was gone and cried a whole lot and was depressed for a couple weeks. Eventually him not being around became routine and I got used to it but still missed him like always. Anyways... he came back in mid December and stayed here for 3 weeks for Christmas break and now he's gone again and I feel really sad. It's like i'm reliving the first time he left all over again and I've never felt so alone. I do have other friends around the area but it's just not the same. I'm not as close with anyone else and it just makes me realize how much I miss him. I won't see him again til summer time so it's going to be another 4 months. I am really busy with school and work all of the time but when I have my day off it makes me wish he was around... my question is... has anyone gone through something like this? It's such a heartache and it's so hard to deal with. How did anyone else deal? It's hard going from seeing that person everyday to just twice a year..

It is sad when close friends move away. The nice thing is that when you do see each other things are great and you have loads to catch up on, this makes you really appreciate them as a friend.
The solution to friends leaving is always to make new friends or to try and spend more time with some you are less close to. Friendships change with time and this is not necessarily a bad thing as you end up with more friends!
