reader, anonymous, writes (25 August 2009): Its a bit hard in Trinidad because there is a larger ratio of women to men. I've found that both men and women tend to be picky as well. I know a lot of people who have met the one they love in their late 30's as well, only by taking a chance when the opportunity arises. If things aren't working out for you, then you could either play it cool, or change something about yourself.

I see you live in Trinidad and Tobago. Though all the people are the same, and that means we usually have similar dating habits, I am not sure what would happen there.
Where I live, your chances of finding a single guy would not be that high. You could find a single guy, but only with great difficulty would you find one who's never been married and has had no children. If you didn't want such a guy, then you would most likely have to settle for an older man. Who would have grandchildren, maybe :-).
But, don't be that pessimistic. Sometimes good things do happen.
