A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

been with my partner for over a year, we are happy together and have alot to look forward to with a baby on the way. for a few weeks he has been snappy, moody and i felt like he didn't care anymore. and now he has found out alot of boys fancy me, and it has made him go all lovey-dovey with me, and he got really jelouse over it, i liked it because it showed he does still care and maybe that was the wake up call he needed, because if he kept being the way he was i would of eventually not been able to stand for it... why do you think he's all of a sudden all loved up with me again? last week he didn't seem to care? im confused.

A male reader, CaringGuy United Kingdom +, writes (7 May 2010):

Sometimes men get complacent with their partners, and suddenly need a kick in the ass to get their act together. These other guys liking you has done just that. It's kicked him into gear, he's remembered that you're about to be he mother of his child and that he loves you, so he's just trying to reassure you. The important thing is that he keeps it up now. Don't allow him to back to his old ways, and if he does make it clear that you won't stand for it. But basically he was getting lazy and snappy, and has been given a kick.
