I have told some people I am a virgin, if the moment seems right, and they just assume it's because I haven't found the right girl or something like that. They even seem to respect it, since I say it with confidence. However, I rarely tell anyone that I have never kissed a girl. Recently, though, I was hanging out with a childhood friend and his girlfriend, both of who know that I am a virgin. Only the guy knows that I have never kissed a girl. I assumed that the girlfriend had assumed it, so I kind of slipped it in there, and the look on her face changed immediately to pity. I guess she assumed that I had regular dating patterns, but just had never got a chance to have sex. Has anyone else noticed this sort of stuff?

 It's unusual, that's all there is to it. People will also raise their eyebrows if they see a pink elephant.
However, it's not that unusual for a virgin your age to not have kissed anyone. It tells a bit about the personality of a person. If they were eager to loose their virginity, and willing to do so with just about anyone, they'd have kissed more people on their way hoping it'd lead to sex.
If a person wants to wait for that special someone, then they will naturally not go around kissing all and everyone willing either, they will want a relationship first, and meet someone who's worth it first.

There's a time n place for everything. Just because you haven't met a girl you want to kiss doesn't mean you have a problem. One day you will and to be honest if a girl likes you she may ask you to kiss her or even make the first move, after all it is the 21st century. Concentrate on meeting and making friends and take it from there. Good luck. Mx

reader, anonymous, writes (12 May 2011): Yea i know what you mean i am 23 and in the same position as you are, a virgin who still has not kissed a girl. whenever people outside my close group of friends finds out i have not kissed a girl they either dont believe it, start asking more questions, or assume somethings wrong with me. so depending on the circumstanes and the people you're with you should keeping that info to yourself
