Could be a sincere question. Would you be interested in marrying if things worked out between you? Assume the best. Well, ask him exactly what he means....
Just a suggestion.

He probably just wants to check that you know where you stand and he's not using you.
We get HUNDREDS of questions on here saying "I'm in a casual relationship but I love him and I'm hoping that if I have sex with him a lot he's love me too...."
Girls can be really stupid about this so he wants to know you are not secretly hoping this will lead to a real relationship.
If you tell him you are happy keeping things casual till you meet a guy who you really want to be with then he can continue to have guilt free sex with you and it will all be ok.
Good Luck!! xx
