I like this guy, but I only want to date him in private. What to do?

So there is this guy i like and i have liked and known him for a over a year now... but i think im starting to like him more... I find myself always needing to talk to him or think about him or talk about him... I also have been known for well being a good girl but talk about the bad things like smoking and stuff... and i think im starting to love thins guy... he is considered or would be considered a bad guy he is a pot head and sometimes ditches... but I think Im starting to fall for him... Im wanting to tell him but if we cant be together i don't see why I should tell him cause if he liked me back we would only be able to date in private as in at school with a couple of our friends I know wouldn't tell anyone about it... so what should I do... I want to be loved but I dont want to be completely heart broken
