writes: Job-phobia?Ok so I am 16, last year I tried to work somewhere and I worked for like 1 week. It was hard work and they didn't pay me. I am a pretty shy person about this kind of stuff so I wouldn't fight for my money. Now that I am 16 I want to work so I can help my family coz we aint doing so well.. but I am like shy about asking for a job and I don't really know where to go and ask. I can speak 3 languages.I am Kurdish so I speak Kurdish, Greek coz I live in Cyprus and English pretty good. This year I am learning spanish too. By the way sorry for any mistakes I made, I am learning English on my own and have never went to school for it... soo be nice? :)How can I get over this fear?

wow yo ushould be proud of yourself-pats on the back-you'r elearning english on your own and you're that good...man you must be really smart cause there are a bunch of people who've been in the united states for years and they can't even start a conversation, so gudd job
and for the job thing just go out job searching......there's nothing to be shy about man, and a guy as smart as you speaking three languages, they'd be dumb not to hire you..
gudd luck bro

Your English is pretty astounding, having taught yourself!! So WOW, well done. Clearly, you're an extremely bright and ambitious young man... and working to support your family is admirable.
You are so young, and it's normal to feel afraid of asking for a job. If you attend school, you can ask a guidance counselor for help finding jobs around town. They may be able to help set you up with an employer. You can also ask for help creating a resumé, that can mention that you are tri-lingual and a hard-working, reliable worker. Then take your resumé to businesses around town and drop it off with them. Tell them that you are just starting out and wanting to find a good start up job. A lot of people may have spare jobs for you to do - a lot of kids start out as dishwashers or stock people. It's not glamorous, but you have to start somewhere!
Definitely ask an adult to help you get started. They may have connections and might make it easier to find you a job. Connections are everything!
Good luck!
