reader, anonymous, writes (9 May 2012): Nothing wrong with you not having a girlfriend, I only got my first a year and a half ago, and I'm slightly older than you. This girl you like.. muster all your courage and talk to her. After a week or so, ask her if she wants to get lunch sometime. Then work from there.
EVEN IF she says no, you already asked a girl out. Always remember the guy that asks 1000000000 times and gets 1 yes, has been with more girls than the guy who has never asked.

 No just because you have not had a girlfriend does not mean that there is something wrong on you, my guess is that you are just shy and you have never had a girlfriend because you have never had the confidence to ask a girl out. But practice makes perfect so it is now time to start doing something about it.
You say you like this girl, how well do you know her? If not well then just take your time and get to know her, ask her questions, enjoy her company and make her feel special. Maybe ask her would she like to go and watch a film with you some time, or even something to eat, just get to know her and don't put any pressure on yourself. Take things slowly and just see how it goes with her, good luck.

Well, you're not the only one! I'm in high school, and I've never had one either. I've always liked this one girl, and she's never liked me. But don't give up. If you feel nervous, talk to her in private, when she's away from her friends, or, you could take a friend of yours, who you trust, with you when you ask her. Tell her how you feel about her, and don't be afraid to get rejected. Albert Einstein once said, "You may never make a discovery, if you're to afraid to try."
