I was in this position 2 years ago with my currant partner.
It was his birthday after a month of dating. I bought him a funny card and picked out a few truffles from the counter of a specialist chocolate store.
If your going to buy something make it something edible! The way to a man's heart is through his stomach! (unless he's diabetic!) You could make him a batch of his favourite cookies or a few cupcakes, yummy and shows you care :-)
